TIMELINE
The timeline below is Eddie's own recollection of the events in his own words.
Free-Eddie.com makes no claims as to it's accuracy.
April 13, 2007
Victim's mother, T.C. calls asking to drop off her daughter, A.Y. to my home.
Michelle, a friend of mine comes over, when I was originally was going to go over to her house to talk about her father's passing. I put in a movie, "Dark Crystal," for A.Y. to watch and go to my bedroom.
April 14, 2007
Michelle leaves to pick up her son in Corydon before T.C. returns.
T.C. and her estranged husband, Richard, pickup A.Y. and leave just after
12 noon.
T.C., Richard, and A.Y. return about 90 minutes later.
T.C. asks if her and her A.Y. could stay with me for a while because her current boyfriend, Hank, had thrown her out.
I told T.C. no and to never call me or come around again.
T.C., Richard, and A.Y. leave.
T.C. parks her car out of view at the end of my driveway and walks back to my home and starts destroying property, my motorcycle, truck, and trailer.
I called the police and a report was filed, but I believe it was cleared or discarded as I wasn't able to give an accurate last name of T.C. at that time or any information on how to find her or where she lived.
T.C.'s claim was referred to CPS due to the information that I provided in my report that included my knowledge, as I understood it, of child abuse and T.C.'s drug abuse.
I never had any follow up on my police report and started repairs to my property.
April 15, 2007

July 14, 2016
Post Conviction Relief (PCR) hearing at Harrison County with Judge Claypool. I was not given the opportunity to question my trial, attorney, or appellate attorney. I requested another extension of time. Claypool didn't issue the subpoenas that I had requested. He stated that the attorneys had lives and careers and didn't have time to come at my request. He granted me more time, then issued the subpoenas. This is why there were two hearing and evidentiary transcripts. My PCR was denied. All I could do at this point was to continue to appeal the decisions.

Petition filed form my Federal Habeas Corpus.
February 12, 2021
Petition filed form my Federal Appeal with the Supreme Court. My request for my appeal was denied and was never reviewed or heard.
Present Day
I have exhausted all of the tools afforded me in prison to pursue my innocence and exoneration. I am not one to sit idle and do nothing to help myself. I stay busy and elect to work in the print shop to save money for when I am released. I have been fortunate to have the use of the Law Library at Wabash Valley Correctional Facility along with fellow inmates who have studied and understand the law better than myself in which to help me. I also apply for any and all opportunities that can provide a time-cut for my release date by involving myself in organizations, education, work, and programs that Wabash Valley Correctional Facility offers to improve myself. Currently, Free-Eddie.com works directly with Exoneration Clinics and Innocence Projects to gain awareness of not only my wrongful conviction, but wrongful convictions as a whole in our nation. Free-Eddie.com is a firm believer that if a human is involved, mistakes can, will, and do happen. I am only looking to correct this wrongful conviction and right my name. All-the-while realizing that my name needs a lot of overhauling. I work on me every day that I am incarcerated. And by working on me, I hope to bring more awareness of the number of inmates who are innocent of the crimes of which they did not commit. I believe in justice and paying for one's mistakes. I also believe that an innocent man should not be held against his or her will when there can be more done to protect that person's rights and freedoms.

Everyday is a struggle, and today, that struggle continues with educating anyone who will listen.

Eddie's Summary:

"As I obviously was not educated in law or our judicial system, I have learned a lot since my incarceration via the legal events as they unfolded, my public defenders, efforts on my own as Pro Se, and from a co-inmate who made "knowing the law and our judicial system" his way of life. What became more evident and pressing is that everything had a demanding timeline. From the first filing of my Direct Appeal to my Post Conviction Relief (PCR), everything was an uphill battle with my learning curve with a ticking timeclock. I didn't fully understand what tools were available to me, nor did I know how to use those tools or use the law library while having the stress of getting everything prepared before the deadlines ended. If I had missed any of these timelines, I would have forfeited my rights for a Federal Appeal.

I would like to offer up my thoughts on my trial and how it was conducted. I will admit, I have never been a patient man or a man with a very level head. As I get older with every year and having time in prison to think about my actions and how I have conducted myself over my years on this earth, I am still learning civility and changing my approach towards my life and how I conduct it. I do believe that my words matter and that I did not have a good report with Judge Roger Davis. He was the same Judge when my own father had me evicted out of my home because of personal differences between us. I am sure how I conducted myself in that hearing, along with my growing history of "running into" the law, he could not have been very biased towards me. His sentencing of me in this case was of his discretion and I am sure my past played a huge part as to why I received over 75 years and having all of my counts to be ran consecutively. I also understand the severity of being accused of this heinous crime that I did not commit. I understand the recidivism (see definition) of those who are guilty of such crimes against children. I do not dispute them, and I am in full agreement of them. I understand why criminals with these charges receive such a long sentence so they cannot and will not have the ability to hurt another child. I just know that I should not have been condemned as harshly for what led me here to prison when I did not commit the charges against me for child abuse and molestation. I may have had a laundry list of infractions, misdemeanors, and disputes, coupled with bad behavior, but I NEVER had a history of crimes against children.

As my trial was made public and Harrison County Judicial System sought out an unbiased jury, not one credible person came out and said, "me too, I was abused or molested by Mr. Nunley too." There was no previous history of child molestation in my 41 years. But with my laundry list of bad behaviors and poor decisions, those things left a black cloud hanging over my head. I have to believe that when someone read or heard that I was going to be on trial for this crime, I was guilty until proven innocent. I am hoping now I have the opportunity to set the record straight."
